American International Montessori is brought to live by a highly-experienced team of teachers and administrators. We believe that our unique, experienced and passionate staff makes all the difference in the quality of education children receive at AIM. And because our tight-knit team at the earlier levels is closely informed of the needs of children as they transition AIM’s elementary program, we can offer an integrated, continuous experience for your child for ten years of their lives, starting at 18 months and continuing all the way to eleven or twelve years of age!
Our Japanese and Chinese teachers are all native speakers of these languages; Chinese teachers exclusively are native Mandarin speakers. All teachers speak only in their native language with the children, all day long.
Our head teachers in all programs are Montessori trained, either by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) or by a high-quality, American Montessori Society (AMS) affiliated program. Our head teachers also have much experience teaching: between our six classrooms and ten head teachers, they have over 20 years of combined Montessori teaching experience! Many of our head teachers have been with our director, Ernest Mahr, for many years; others have joined us after teaching extensively in other programs; a few joined AIM right out of Montessori training, and took over a classroom head teacher position after a multi-year, on-the-job training program; occasionally, an assistant teacher will pursue Montessori training and over time be promoted to a head teacher.
We are proud to say that our staff is very loyal to AIM and stable: since AIM’s founding, we have yet to lose one head teacher to involuntary attrition!
